Had a great time in our Chimaera at the weekend competing in a grass slalom near Wareham. We didn't win any prizes but I think you'll see we enjoyed ourselves

I bought mine to enjoy - and it certainly does get used 
its as far from a garge queen as it is possible to get but that just seems to make it more reliable (owned for 4 years).I wouldn't drive it off road all the time - and on grass it is extremely hard to control but fortunately I rally drive so I've got some idea of what to do
Tarmac slaloms are far less damaging and still loads of fun, they are held by car clubs throughout the country if you fancy trying it. Nothing to hit except a few non damaging cones, max speed usually around 30mph and a great way to finish off a set of worn tyres...

You're right about the ride height - its on lowered racing Nitrons which aren't ideal off road
Glad I didn't hit anything all day - there were some pretty solid things waiting if you over cooked it... just glad it wasn't wet!
There is quite a lot more footage from different angles I just need to get it edited - should make a good little film especially if we set it to 'Dukes of Hazard' music in the background

Grass slaloms only happen during the summer (for obvious reasons!) and normally after harvesting. Slaloms take place all over the country, Google to find you local car club/motor club and see if they have one. Slaloms are very similar to autosolos and autotests (although these are slower and invlove reversing too) most events happen on tarmac or other firm surfaces. Any car can compete, at our events most use their everyday car or an MOT failure they trailer to the event. Really cheap and only issue is usually tyre wear. The grass slalom was a bit rough (you can't tell in the film but that kept my speeds down in order not to wreck the car) tyres were almost untouched but car needed the geometry sorting afterwards as the suspension had moved with the strain! Still, £120 + £20 to enter still makes it a lot of fun for not too much cash
