Where is the oil warning light sender on a 500 ?

Hi

On my 1998 Griff the oil warning light no longer comes on with the ignition and I'm trying to track down the sender to earth the cable and check the bulb.

It's been explained that I should find the sender on the front of the engine but after 20 minutes with a dentistry mirror I admitted defeat. Can anybody help with a better description of the location or even a photo?


(I know there is a second sender much lower down for the gauge but I'm looking particularly for the on/off warning light sender)

The pressure sender (for the gauge) is under the bottom of the front cover.

The pressure switch is on the side just about behind where the hose returning from the rad joins the water pump.

It is a bit hard to see with all that serp clutter, you may find it easier looking up from underneath past the oil filter

It's almost underneath the alternator as described by Spend, brass nut with a white err . . . errr. . . nipple with a spade ended wire connected to it. They do go occasionally, I replaced mine once.

Not the best pic but, its the bright white thing that is on the tube that rises from the oil filter and is between the block and the return from the rad. Hope this helps.

Now I can see what my fingers were feeling! It's a bh to get to from above on a Serpentine engine!
