TVR for £30,000
Discussion
well if the roof must come off then it takes the cerbera and T350 out of the equation so I guess you are down to a Limited edition Griff 500 last off the line or the Tamora. Not a big Tamora fan myself and, whilst I dont want to open a can of worms, you will have a SP6 engine. Even if that proves reliable, it is likely to affect re-sale more than an L/E Griff 500 so i guess i would plump for the Griff.
Griff LE is the sensible choice.
But its more of the same as your Chim is the runout, they are identical under the skin, completely if you have a Chim 500.
Speed Six again without wanting to open the can is a time bomb in my estimation. Its going to go, its just a case of when.
If you can sacrifice the drop top aspect then a 2001 Cerb 4.5 RR should just be achieveable and if it has to be a TVR then this is what I would go for.
Hate to say it, but considered a 996 Cab?

OK - I'll be prepared to go against the flow. But I would stress I am not wishing to raise the lid on that worm can either - save it for somewhere else, and that includes jigs!!!!!
I've been thinking about this one.
Reliability - SP6 newish or sorted, I'll go into it with eyes wide open
Perfomance - you can't really go wrong with anything from Blackpool! Tuscan would be better than my Griff - and looks good too. 10 years on in terms of handling and more comfortable for SWMBO.
Day to day running costs, fuel etc - newish SP6, probably more economical than my V8
Servicing costs - look on the members cars section, there's a vast array of costs, but it can't be much more if I keep to independent servicing
Depreciation - I'm looking to keep for three years plus, so if it's already come done to about £30 that's not an issue
Insurance - a 2002 Tuscan will be £60 per year more than my Griff
Yup, that's it!! I've come out of the closet - I want a Tuscan! (Just don't want to become the DustyC of the Tuscan forum!!!
)
Come on then -
me down in flames!!!!!

Now you know that my ears have pricked up at that!
I would just add that I wholeheartedly agree that Tamoras are fabulous value for money at the moment. I haven't driven one, but every time I sit in one I find it relatively claustrophobic - it's purely a personal thing, and I never feel like that in the Griff. Strange that.

I can't believe that I'm seriously thinking about a Tamora
I don't see how that's a bad thing!
What is it that appeals so much, though?
It's a better fit for a girly!
Seriously, the Tuscan has phenomenal performance but for 'chuck-ability' and fun the Tamora has won my heart. Gulp!

Gotta be a Griff 500...Ive had the pleasure and driven a Chimp, Tuscan, Tamora, Cerb, T350C and i wouldn't swap my Griff for any of them......zz
