Posting this in here as people with cars others than griffs may know the answer.
The dials on my '92 griff have green illumination. They have a green rubber/silicone sleeve over a clear bulb to achieve the colour. I want to change the colour to red to match the interior and hopefully make them a bit brighter too. I tried an ultrabrite red LED but it was too directional and did not illuminate the whole dial. Does anyone know where I can get the coloured sleeves that go over the bulb? Seeing as all the bulbs work it seems wastefull to buy replacement ones with red glass (although I dont know where/if these are available either).

I remember a trick of using the ends of fingers from red and orange rubber gloves streched over the bulbs to make them the right colour when the rear light lenses had been smashed on a friend's car.
Obviously the dash illumination bulbs will be much smaller, but it might be possible to use a smaller piece of glove, although you'd also need to consider the wattage of the bulb as to whether it'd generate enough light to penetrate the rubber.

Just in case anyone is interested, I managed to get hold of some bulb paint at lunch time (thanks podie
).
Its made by a company called 'Savage' and cost £4.99 it comes in various colours including neon blue (I know a few people in the past wanted to change dial illunination to blue and this may do the trick rather than forking out over £100 for LED's).
You have to apply it, bake it in the oven for 20 mins, then allow it to cool and repeat as necessary until the required depth of colour is achieved. Its no good for hallogen bulbs but as far as I'm aware most interior bulbs are standard.
