Last night I was lucky enough to get a tour around the Ginetta facility in Garforth. Its an impressive place. During the tour the guide told of how the main man at LNT Ginetta, Lawrence Tomlinson, had been on the verge of buying TVR from PW. Apparently contracts had been prepared and the deal was all but done before the Russian stepped in..
Looking at the current range of Ginetta cars, with the New G50, and the 400 it did make me wonder what might have been if Tomlinson had been succesful in his bid for TVR.
Also, sat in the back of the factory, under nice covers were 3 Le Mans TVR T400s, so its clear that Tomlinson had a real affection for the marque.. We can only dream whistfully of what might have been, eh?
