I hope this is constructive enough and it is my honest opinion
I bought my TVR Chim 400 from Fernhurst and they were great, personal and friendly. I went with a friend who bought his TVR Chim 400 from them and only had good things to say.
When I choose my car (in Aug 2009) they pointed out all the faults that were going to be fixed before I picked up the car, performed a full 12000 mile service and supplied me with a 6000 mile warranty on all major parts. I agree they are expensive and probably top end at that - but what do you expect buying a TVR from the heartland of the conservative voter!
I think the benchmark is that I have had no problems with the car and that was proven when it sailed through its MOT with no faults and no advisories.
So in my opinion - yes they are good, but maybe pricey because of location.
I'd be interested to hear why they are not good - as lond as the mods don't shoot anyone

I bought my Cerb from them. Drew was helpful and polite and made the whole thing very easy and straight forward. Had a stater replaced under warranty no questions asked.

I was impressed with their set-up and the service they sold. Drew was a really easy bloke to deal with and nice with it. I went with my son and he took him out in all the cars as well, so full marks for on-site sales.
After the visit, there was no follow through or calls about the cars I drove. Big mistake

My Chim came from them and I was really pleased with the sales guys. Nice and relaxed, keen to offer a test drive and happy to get the car on the ramps and give me half an hr to have a look around without hassling me at all. They were reasonably happy to agree a decent amount of work to be done on the car before we picked it up and generally were nice people to deal with.
However their aftersales side hasn't been anywhere near as good. I won't go into detail on here (feel free to pm me if you want details) but i've found alternative places to look after my car.
Either way, from what I saw, the cars they sell are all in good nick and well prepped/cared for. They are a bit overpriced but from what I know, this is in part due to them attracting a lot of overseas customers so they're making the most of the Euro exhange rate, plus if they generally do as much prep on the cars as they did on mine, then they need to make a profit somewhere!

I've bought two cars from them now, have had no problems with the sales department, and would buy from them again. Agreed their prices are a bit higher, but you do get a warranty/peace of mind. Go have a look, they won't pressure you to buy. Note I do have mine maintained elsewhere though

Indeed they are expensive, but you don't have to buy! Fernhurst have good cars and if you want a good'un they're the people to see, and they do tend to have the best low mileage cars available.
Just buying my second one from them this week, they make it very easy to part with large lumps of cash, be warned! Happy Days.

No experience of buying from them, but I did call in recently when I was 'passing by' (spending a few days in the area), just for a look (wife had agreed earlier that the route through Fernhurst seemed the most direct 
).
I found them (Simon if i recall) very informative (as you might expect, but don't always find), helpful and knowledgeable. Some would say that would only be what to expect from a dealer trying to sell something. A fair point, but it isn't my experience of some specialist/'prestige' dealers, whether franchise or not.

I bought both my TVRs from Fernhurst, and had nothing but good service from Drew and Simon in the sales department. I used to use them religiously for servicing, again with excellent service (for both Rover and S6 engines), but I haven't been in since Brian the workshop manager moved to Racing Green.

What does "massively overpriced" mean? Does it mean they are so very expensive that nobody buys a car there? Or does it mean they are asking more and people are paying more than you think their cars are "worth"?All imho of course.
If your neighbour, who had a similar house to yours, sold it for £25k more than you thought it was worth, would you tell everyone on a public forum that houses in your street aren't worth what they're selling for? If not, why do it with your car??
I'm NOT having a go specifically at mr sagman but generally at everyone who posts that this or that car they've seen advertised or sold is 'overpriced'.
The ONLY price that these cars are worth are those prices that people are prepared to pay for them. I just don't understand how anyone chooses to publically talk DOWN the price of what is perhaps one of their OWN most valuable assets!!
End of rant!!
