Cerbera Reliability
Discussion
It had to happen... After owning the Cerbera for nearly a year of fault-free daily driving and no breakdowns, I take somebody's deposit on it (he's coming to pick it up on Friday). One day later, I'm driving down to Reading in the middle of the night and bang the exhaust corrodes right the way through, leaving the exhaust pipe sheared off just before the back box.
What's that you say, you thought I had a set of straight-through sports pipes on the Cerb?
This was on the 206 - my first experience of driving a "normal" car in months.
Bring on the next TVR!

I can't believe you've gone and done it... what are you going to pull the birds in now? Mind you, I s'pose the Pug'll sound pretty good now

Are you going to get a Tuscan?
Hell yeah.
I started looking at early 996s, but quickly gave up - Can't put "T111VVR" and my set of Nitrons on a Porsche! Decided I either want a Tuscan RR that's recently been rebuilt, or a standard Tuscan that's about to go pop that I can get rebuilt to RR spec. Just need to sort money out for a bit first...

I know.
The 206 is a real babe-magnet, though... Complete with factory-fitted tape player, metal-look wheel trims, grab-handles, and go-faster stripe down the side of the car (well, ok, it's just been keyed bumper to bumper, but still...) Forgot to tell them to put a GTi exhaust on it when it was done yesterday. Damnit.

Good luck with the Tuscan. Just to let you know...got the gear gater surround to fit Darens car last week. Looks good, so will get some made up if the price is ok. If there's anything giltery for the car, let me know. I have something for the wiper delay coming up....
Excellent - your photos looked great... shame I couldn't have kept the car long enough to try it out. I'll have a think about anything that needs upgrading on the Tuscan - it seems all perfectly nice & shiny at the moment, but I'm sure I'll spot something. I'll take a look at the gaiter surround on it tonight, too!

Speaking of which, have you modified the design (to account better for the movement of the gear stick in later cars) since the fitting session? You'll also have to let me know what you're planning to do with the prototype - swap you for a few quid if its going spare....
Darren.

How about fitting it for a trial period....until some nice ones are made up? Ive got some time off over the next week or so, so could come over to fit it with you? Could give you a call to sort this out?
Sounds good to me, give me a call. I'm down to Joolz's on Friday (how come my car always seems to be in a garage when you see it - you're a jinx
) and down south tomorrow but other than that I should be OK. Darren.

_DJ_, I dropped the Tuscan off at Joolz's last night for a set of new tyres, and have left the rear springs from my Nitrons with him - you're definitely fine to have those on your car to save a bit of money.

Thanks very much James - much appreciated. I owe you a
or 2! edited to add: presumably Joolz knows what they were left for and can get me a set without (rear) springs?

I should hope so! Chatted to him about it last night - left my Nitrons there waiting for them to be fitted in a couple of weeks. Will make sure everything's sorted when I go back to pick up my push-me-pull-you Tuscan tonight.
