Went to TMS in Melton today to pick up a hardtop for the wife's MG from James. Top man.

Anyway, there was a Cerbie round the back – one of the mechanics tried starting it, my god, it was the loudest exhaust I have ever heard on a car ...

Think of the loudest, blatiest exhaust you've ever heard, then double it and I 'll bet it was only half as loud as this one. Sports exhaust? I don't think this had an exhaust on it!! (Probably half as loud as a Wedge tho' )

Nice to hear once in a while, but man, I could not live with it.

Same colour as Flasher's one from last week, but don't think it was that one.

What we need Mike is one of those valves as fitted to the Vanquish to change the exhaust note. It would be nice to have it screaming every now and again, and quiet for daily use.

Matt.

I was up at DB7 factory in Bloxham for a job interview a couple of weeks ago (got down to the final selection tests but didn't get the job though, still consoling myself now). There was a Vanquish there and they were telling us the valves are in there so as the car passes Californian drive by noise regs, but can still be used 'enthusiastically with aural pleasure'.

If anybody knows of companies recruiting top grade mechanical engineering graduates let me know. I graduate in July.

Cerb has sports system on I love the noise of the Cerb and above 3,000 rpm the Cerb howls, also great popping exhaust on overrun. Use everyday and makes driving to work a pleasure though do consider neighbours when coming home late, still at idle they know I am home !!!

Foggy drop me a note !!!

Bad luck Foggy! What was the job at Aston? In a similar position myself trying to locate a new job in research/information mainly to free up some extra cash for a Griff.... Any recruitment people out there!?!

One of the guys that lives near me has a DB7 and at full crack it does sound really nice, in my view not a guttral as some TVRs but very nice and a tad louder, he followed me once and the guy in the passenger seat thought I had broken my car!!!!

If you lurrrve loud exhausts (lets face it, who doesn't?) I recommend attending a Top Fuel drag race meeting at Santa pod.
It re-defines loud and words cannot do it justice.

Twit (seems a bit rude calling someone twit)

The job was on their graduate training scheme. I applied for chassis and powertrain development but as you can imagine the competition was pretty hot. I got down to the last stage though, and seeing as it was the first job I applied for (still at uni at the moment) I thought I did alright, but it was a shame not to get it.

Twit is a name I've had for 25 years now, since primary school, I kinda like it! You got to take positives, you did well! I am sure something will turn up and then it is off to TVR dealer land... I am assuming as a student you don't own a TVR - If you do I'm jealous cos I don't.... yet!
