Two TVR's & My Wedding!

I got married this Saturday(Sept 18th)and was very nervous/excited about the day ahead.

I woke up early Sat morning, and just could not get back to sleep. So, I thought if it's not wet outside, I'll take the S3 out for a play as the streets would be dead, plus there is something about driving early in the morning that is just awesome! So, I pulled back the curtains and it was perfect!(I had been in a state about the weather all week!) Not a cloud, so got the little beast out the garage, hopefully woke the neighbours(as they're miserable gits!) and went to the coast!
What a great drive, no other cars about, this was about 6:45am, The road I went on was over moor like roads, just class, then get to the beach and parked up to take in what was about to happen that day, knowing it was going to be full on. THE TVR MADE THIS PERFECT.

Part two to my TVR day:
SO, got the S back in the garage(now running a bit late!) Met the best men & Ushers at mine to get ready. As we were eating Bacon Sarnie's & watching the Inbetweeners(we're blokes, so getting ready was done last thing!) The lads all said "You jammy FUER!!" as they saw the wedding car roll up to the house! I had kept it a secret from all. A stunning TVR Tuscan was my car, and it looked AMAZING! Apart from the gettin wed bit, this was my best bit of the day, my wedding dress as I put it to the wife! Everyone was expecting the normal old Bentley etc... I was so proud to have it parked up outside the church with the ribbon on it, everyone was loving it.
But the best bit was just after the confetti throwing when we got in the car, everyone was around taking photo's, (I couldn't start it at 1st because I forget I had to press the button on the key fob!) But when I did I gave it a bit of throttle and it sounded SAVAGE!! The crowd all got excited, I gave it a couple of medium blips then drove off with my Bride! MAGIC! The drive there was great, lots of smiles & nods from people walking by.

The day was perfect, but my two TVR drives made it extra special.

I want to say a HUGE THANKYOU to Mike who owned the Tuscan, the car was in stunning condition, inside & out. The colour couldn't have been better for the wedding, the Tuscan looked so classy(and savage!) He's a really good bloke too, turned up to my house bang on time, and was very flexible about what time I got it back to him on the Sun. So if anyone wants to hire a TVR, I hugely recommend www.southwestsportscars.co.uk

On a similar note, back in July I was one of two Best Men for one of my closest friend's wedding (well actually both him and his wife are two of the best friends you could ever ask for, but anyway..) and his wife asked if I could find a fun car to take him to the wedding in.

I was extremely fortunate in so much as a close friend and fellow PHer generously lent me his Tuscan for the day which really did make the day complete. As it happens, by brother and I saw a familiar Chimaera up for sale a few weeks beforehand and decided to purchase it between us which we had kept a secret from everyone so I ended up driving the Groom to the wedding in the Tuscan and my brother drove the other Best Man to the wedding in our Chimaera.

To top his weekend off, I decided that he could come with me to drop the Tuscan back off to my friend so I chucked him the keys to the Chimaera and let his burst his RWD/TVR cherry. Crazy? Maybe, but I trust him and it apparently made his weekend that little bit more special. He has also decided against an Elise in favour of a Chimaera in the future too.

So Blues, I'm entirely grateful for your generousity!

Big thumbs up - I'm all in favour of using TVRs as wedding cars, and that's exactly what I'll be doing on Saturday. My Tuscan will be transporting my brother and me to my wedding, complete with ribbons (must remember to wash and wax it too...)

Strangely, the only person who's nervous about the day is my brother, as he's got the responsibility of driving the TVR from the church to the reception. Friday is "TVR driving for beginners" day

I met my soulmate at BTAP, and we got married last year. I drove him to the wedding in my TVR Chim and he drove me to the reception as his wife on the way back. We had a fantastic time and it was kinda awesome being driven with the roof of in my wedding dress etc. It just had to be done........

Congrats to you both, I got married on the same day.........39 years ago when I was a mere stripling of 23.......oh yes it was also my birthday, so I can never forget the Wedding Anniversary........until this year
