Best chassis protection

Hi chaps, I'm going to be giving the chassis on my cerb a good clean off soon and was wandering what the general opinion was on the best protection for it after cleaning?

I've used waxoil on other cars before and that seemed pretty good, but should I prime the chassis first before spraying the waxoil on? i.e with etch primer or something

Or is there anything else on the market that you guys recommend?

I use POR15 on everything metal now. It is a pain to paint and prep is key (as always) but it's bulletproof.

I use Grey Hamerite smooth. The grey matches my chassis but some have a White chassis.

You'll probably think this is a bit OTT, but I use all three.

When I got my Griff ~2 years ago, with just surface rust in a few places plus a few areas where the powder coating had come off, I degreased everything, used metal ready on anything bare, painted all rusty areas with POR15 and then top coated with Smoothright (white and black mixed to match the chassis) - it looked like new. Then I had it all treated with waxoil. Cosmetically now doesn't look new underneath due to small stones and general road grime sticking to the wax, but no sign of rust. Thinking about steam cleaning the wax off to see how it really is underneath.

Englishman, while you have a good belt, you forgot the braces.

I used a zinc based primer, several coats of POR15, several coats of POR15 sterling silver top coat and "heavicote" epoxy pitch over the areas likely to be at risk of stone chips. So far, so good.

So I'm thinking wire brush, clean up, degrease, treat surface rust with cure rust or similar, POR15 then waxoil

or maybe smoothrite after POR15 and before waxoil?
