Replacement Windscreen

Well I have had a new winscreen fitted to my 1990 S2 by Mobile Windscreens in Worcester and am absolutly delighted with the result. Green tint with a Green top band. You couldnt ask for a neater job, beautifully done.
They had the car for two days and would always want a TVR in the branch for at least a day. They said its NOT a job to be rushed on someone drive.
I hadnt realised how obscured the old screen was by micro chips and scretches etc, ita a relavation to see out so clearly. Well worth the cost.
If anyone is interested the retail price is a wopping £504!!! But it was done for a LOT less. The person to speak to is Phil Lomas (Director and General Manager) 530dTPhil here, of Mobile Windscreens.

I saw them fitted at the factory in the last days of S production. No rubber trim. Just mastic. With variable quality / fit.

Sorry What i meant to say was, do you think it left the Blackpool factory like that, with sinkage gaps in the outer polyeurophane backfill, which will allow moisture to form on the outer laminated edges of the windscreen, causing it eventually to de-laminate and a white cloudiness to form between the inner and outer sheets of glass, breaking down the integrity of the laminate sheeting in between.

and that's exactly what happened. Moisture got in between the laminates of the screen causing a white cloud in the edges. Ask any S owner...Gassing Station | General TVR Stuff & Gossip | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
