Silverstone Performance closing?

Have they gone to the wall? A shame if they have as they did some good work in the TVR world.

I e-mailed the question and still no feedback.

I agree. A shame, but their website says they have now closed as well so must be the case.

I spoke to them last week. They were just closing up. But the y still gave me useful advice and ten minutes of their time.

With no new cars on the scene coupled with more owners wishing to do there own servicing and sourcing parts from information gathered on sites like this leaves many of these well known and respected companys to shut up shop.

This is someone else. Dealer & service centre. The staff were told to go home yesterday I believe.

Does anyone know if the service side is being taken over and staying in Basildon?

Diversification is a strategy that SP has been following for several years but diversification away from TVRs merely leads you into other territories where competition is equally rife. Pioneering products (like the turbo kits we have developed for MR2 and Lotus) is expensive and fraught with risk, and if Lady Luck isn't on your side...

Those that know me know that I have worked incredibly hard in tough and often unlucky times to make a successful business but I have not been able to achieve this and so it is time for me to move onto something else.

I appreciate everyone's support and loyalty over the years and all those expressing their good wishes for the future. Many of the SP products will live on and are available through Tim at ACT and I am referring SP service customers to Jason at STR8SIX because, like Tim, he is someone I trust to look after them.

It's rather sad but I really hope that in time this move will give me the opportunity to become a fully-fledged member of the TVR community, rather than just a supplier to it!
