I found these things in a local outdoors type place that look like a smoke alarm but are full of stuff that sucks up moisture. When wet, the crystals inside change colour and you bring them indoors and plug into the mains to dry out. Probably the best £20 for two that I have spent on the car

I now use these. They work ok at keeping mopisture levels down, but they seem to need very regular "re-charging"!I used to run one full time in a brick / asbestos roof garage for my Ginetta. I cant say it really coped although there was a small steady stream of water from it. I think your are much better off spending a few quid on decent water displacing sprays and simply soaking all the metal / plated surfaces (Im not taking WD40 its rubbish) over the winter. I like this stuff, as it leaves a thin wax on the metal when the solvent evaporates and you can easily clean it off in the spring:

The car is now 18 years old and still has all its plated metal parts in perfect condition including the brake calipers. I would not recommend it on the disks however.

I have a dehumidifer thats apparently suitable for a 4 bedroom house ... when I forget to put the cover on and it rains I end up with an inch of water or more inside. I mop out what I can then leave the dehumidifier in for a day or so. It usually drags 3-4 litres out per day, dries it all out in no time.
I use one all year round in my garage, and depending on the conditions it drags a hell of a lot of water out of the air,i have mine piped into one of those water cooler bottles that you see in offices and the like, just to give it some extra capacity over the internal tank, and when i go away on holiday for two weeks it can fill the 18 liter bottle up no problem.
