Sorry to hear that, on the upside looks like it would repair. Why don't you buy it back from the insurance and get someone like TVR.Dean to repair it, and respray it. Looks toooooo good to die.....

Sorry to hear this...at least from the photo it looks like you were in the right place if there were any whiplash injuries.

Not sure how the roof came off was more concerned where my head was going!

The car is now with TVR power, so we will see if its savable.

A little twist to the story is that went home to look up insurance details and found out that it had expired last week!

Hagerty said they had sent me a letter informing me that the insurance was due for renewal but they did not want to renew! I did not get a letter!!!
Legally its my problem but with 2 cars a motorbike, 3 houses and a business to insure it slipped my mind!
Luckily as it was not my fault to guy's who hit me's insurance will pay. Also for the 2 cars I hit after he hit me!
Saddly may end up with 3 points and a fine fromn the police

Oh no!!!! Just to make a bad day even worse........

..... hope that they don't come down on you too hard.

Looks like your best option is to get it fixed up still - good luck

And none of the policies give you third party only cover on other vehicles to avoid

scratchchin

The third party cover may not apply as you own all the vehicles, but it might...............

Hope it all turns OK and the car is repairable.

Same thing happened to a friend of mine, got passed from one broker to another but no one actually bothered renewing his insurance, he was driving around for a good several months before he realised, thankfully he never got stopped, although he'd been through several ANPR camera's and still didn't get picked up.

Sorry to hear about your mishap, hope you don't get put through the mill, must be frustrating. Good luck!

very sad to see another tiv needing treatment, cars can be fixed alot easy er than humans though.
just a question i have , if you have no insurance cover why would another insurance company pay for your damage ,you should not be on the road, legally .???
i understand it was not your fault the other driver said its his fault but you were not allowed on the road with out insurance so !!!!

I thought insurance companies were actually legally obliged to renew your insurance automatically unless you "opt" out? To prevent stuff like this happenening.. might be worth checking out

The third party cover would not apply because the OPs car was not insured. The DOC cover only works if the car you are driving is insured by someone else.

The good news is the OP is ok and with a bit of luck the car will find its way back on the road again, seems too nice a car to let it die.

Also hope the BIB don't go down the driving without insurance route because that won't go down too well when it comes to getting any future car insurance. One thing insurers don't like is people who drive without insurance, the reasons it came about won't make any difference to them.

Hope it all works out ok.

Thanks for the interesting replies.
If anyones been in a smash with a TVR before the sound is "interesting" to say the least.
12 hours after the crash I can still here it. again and again and again!
And why does my neck hurt.
Feel a court case coming on!

On both. I suspect you'll be considerably out of pocket as a result of this. Let's hope the BiB don't see you as an easy target too.

Only if you have direct debit.

its an easy mistake to make. I had 4 policys with Aviva. Three DD and the cheap snotter was only a few hundered quid so I just paid a one off payment. Over a 12 month I then forgot that I hadn't re-insured

I now only pay by monthly DD since insurance is automatically renewed unless you opt out.

You'd hope not, I travelled to work uninsured earlier in the week!

Well the normal course of action for an insurance claim in an accident like this, is that, the owners of the 2 cars that the Tuscan struck, would claim from the Tuscan's insurance....

The Tuscan would then claim from the car that struck him.... I can't see the instigator's of the accident's insurance company entertaining a claim for that lot, when they can just say, a hang on, this car was being driven illegally in the first place....confused
