I have had a quote come through for Bridgestone 225 50 15 Z Position
Is this an S03 as i know them as Potenza, the company said they didnt have that name name in there Database??
I know The whole name is probably Bridgestone Potenza S-03 Pole Position.
Anyone care to help me and shed some light.
Its my cheapest quote at £119 All in

I don't know anyone who runs a TVR on Continental's , although I am sure someone will have an opinion.
My dad said to me the other day he was thinking about Avons for his Chimaera !! Let's just say he's running in some SO3's now
Top cars need top tyres and the SO3's are superb. Although I have to say I was tempted by the SO2's advertised by mytyres.co.uk though .... although I would have concerns about the compound and age of the tyres ...
He ran Avon on the Spider and really like them after 500 miles or so and a few heat cycle's, once they were scrubbed in.
I would always wonder about their ability to cope with the grunt of a 5ltr TVR and what reputation do they have ?? Same goes for the Conti's.
There are too many people on hear that will tell you 1 of the following ..
Toyo Pro X thingy's if you can get them in right size with Z rating.
Bridgestone S02's or S03's.
Goodyear F1's ....
Apart from those every thing else doesn't get a consistent or significant mention.
You may well find that they are fantastic tyres and suit you and your car, however, I would suggest that the PH collective have acquired a vaster array of experiences and knowledge.
I ran the S on Bridgestones, the Griffith came with S02's which were fantastic and once a supply of fresh S02's ran out I swapped to S03's. Took a while to get used and have to drive the car differently, put have total trust and faith in them and see utterly no reason to change to the other options mentioned.
Certainly not to a tyre who's reputation for our car type is qestionable.
Edited to add that his 450 Chimaera came with F1's on the front and rear and he liked them, although he has changed to S03's as I have convinced him they are cheaper and equally as good if not better. At the moment he fiddling with pressures to get the best out of them ..

I would have thought the Contis would have been even better than the Bridgestones performance wise but wouldnt last as long.
I don't know what they're like on a tiv, but I had a pair of them on the back of an Omega estate (ok, not a tiv, but still rear drive) and they were bl
dy awful. Now have Eagle F1s on there and it's soooo much better..... this narrowed the selection when I needed new tyres for the Chim, and I stuck Toyos on all corners... partly due to Goodyear not doing both front and rear sizes in the same tread pattern 
edited to add: I recently changed the fronts on the Omega from F1 GSD2 to F1 GSD3, and they seem better again..... maybe they'll do all the Chim sizes in GSD3 by the time I need more.....

As regards Z rating I am told that this is an old designation and is now replaced by V,W, and Y. For Griffs the tyre must be W rated or above (ie Y). W is up to 167.8mph.

Cheers guys I ended up ordering from Mytyres for 100 smackers. So it will be about £110 all in.
Local dealer wouldnt knock a £5 off which would have made it £115 with me tacking the wheel off and down there so his loss.
