Not just you. I've always thought I'm the odd one out when it comes to this car and all the fuss it creates. I understand it's significance in TVRs history but it's butt ugly, pretty much unusable as a road car and I doubt many tracks would allow it on due to noise etc.
Why all the love for it?

I prefer it with the road car bodywork rather than the race car bodywork it now has.

It created lots of attention. My son rode in at and reckons it was tremendous. It looks stunning. The pictures do not do it justice.

So, they still haven't sold it then? These guys were trying to sell this car about two years ago - for about £150k if I recall. Two years on and still no takers. That must be saying something......

£150k sounds like alot to me, mind you the Typhon thats for sale is nearly £100k

I had heard the SP12 was on for a higher figure than that.

The Typhon or T440 is at least a road going, functional TVR. The last model from them using carbon fibre. Was the only TVR wind tested. And is based upon a genuine race car which not only competed but finished Le Mans.

A genuinely useable road car that will appreciate in value, especially once the race cars start being used in eligiable series as they meet the age requirements.

The SP12 is an amazing car and an interesting bit of TVR history but it never really worked as a road or race car. It's more a museum piece than anything I would have thought.

It will be very interesting to see the SP12 on the road that the PHer is building at present, if that is using as many TVR parts as is suspected and being put together by TVR people then I could see that being able to justify this kind of price tag as a useable road car.

Watching the SP12 'racing' along the prom during the 2006 Back Home at Blackpool was awesome. PH had many threads at the time from both passengers and driver of the car, they make interesting reading.

Clearly not a road-going car - I think the oil needs to be warmed for 30 minutes before you start it - but fantastic all the same.
