James Bond - really should have had TVR's

been on hols this week and as I have been mostly bonding and cuddling my 5 week old son I have had some TV time for a change and after watching "for your eyes only" it struck me how Bond really should be in Cerb's, Tuscan's, Typhon's and Sagarises (no idea of the plural there)


I mean an Esprit turning into a submarine is a good thing, but can you imagine the gadgetry you could have gotten away with in one of our beauties?


Even now they'd look better than anything else........

If I'm not mistaken it was considered at one point but BMW had much deeper pockets.

How long is a piece of string ?

If TVR had supplied cars to Bond movies in the 60's the whole history of the company would be different. Bond associations are no guarantee against financial difficulties though.

The Bond association with that DB5 has multiplied its value tenfold against non-Bond DB5's. There is a race Griffith up for sale now for £95k, so if the multiplication factor is consistent it could have been £950,000 perhaps.

Good idea in principle but having to ask the baddies to take it easy for the first 10mins while the engine warms up might grate a little.

I'm sure Q division could have sorted any minor issues


plus to be honest a warp drive wouldn't seem too unrealistic given the shape of certain TVR's

Bond did have a TVR.....well sort of. In the Looney Tunes film ex-James Bond Timothy Dalton plays a Bond type character who has a silver Tuscan. But you never see him drive it as it gets taken from his house by Bugs Bunny and a woman.....it's got loads of gadgets including jet engines and wings!

actually Scaramanga would.........one of the less glamorous Bond Villain Motors (except for the flying bit!)

We had a good laugh hi-jacking the Bond theme some years ago with a "Diamonds are Forever" TVR tour celebrating 60 years
(well 59 3/4 years!) of the marque. 44 TVRs, champagne, chateaus on a long weekend.
Our Cerbera has carried a "Keep up 007!" decal eversince. ;0)
