1997 chimaera/meta alarm siren

Hi guys just thought id ask before i spent £80 or so on a new replacement, does anyone have one surplus to requirements. [i.e totally changed there alarm system]The alarm system on my car works a treat apart from no noise, and its deffinetly the siren thats faulty, thanks Tom.

Carl is your man for this. I had to get a new siren when I had my '98 Chim - - apperently, the weather gets in to the connector behind the grill, and if not attended to can mess with the immobiliser/alarm unit (quote from Carl).

So - I'd get it seen to sooner rather than later. Else, it will be the 'black boxes' as well as the siren.

Thirded, that's exactly what happened to my '97 Chim. Carl is the man.

Tom,
As above Carl is your man. He can supply a new alarm siren for a price roughly what you have mentioned. However the new siren is not quite a direct replacement as the original is now obsolete.
This means a small wiring mod which Carl explains in the paperwork supplied with the new siren.
If however electrics is not your "bag" then you may have to pay someone else to do your install.
I fitted mine in about half an hour and no problems since.

Check the siren hasn't been 'turned off'. There is a key hole on the siren to allow it to be silenced when servicing the car. It's one of those barrel type keys.
