Griff Growl and TVR Gathering
Discussion
A small piece has now appeared in Sprint and I hoped the interest levels would soar but this isn't the case. I have had 3 e-mails of interest and 2 of these can only attend on 1 day!!!!!
This event is open to ALL TVR's and not just Griffs so come on get your name down.
I have checked the calendar on PH and we don't have enough numbers to gamble on the 2 day format and hope when it comes to booking people will actually commit.
I need to decide in the next 2 weeks whether the event is to be held over 1 or 2 days as I need to confirm all the details. Please add your name to the calendar and get non PH TVR owners to e-mail me as it doesn't look promising at the moment.
I am expecting the base cost to be around £10-£15 a head with a free ticket into the museum. Other items will be extra, ie BBQ, so it is a cheap event.

FlipFlop,
I've scribbled it in my diary for the Sunday but wont know for a month or so if I can defo make it.
Dont be disappointed with the response, unfortunately with all of these things most people will hold back until they see a good response, then it will all go mad at the end.
Keep on talking it up and harrass everybody you know and I'm sure it will come together just fine. I'll put the word out for you with the TVRCC N London/ Middx/ Beds/Herts/Bucks members and try and get a posse together for a run up the M40.
Matt
ps - cheers for the tip on the clear indicators, got mine this morning. Just need to summons the courage to fit them now. I'll probably end up bottling it and pay someone else to do it properly !

I'll do likewise on the Surrey site. I'll put a link from our website to the TVRCC advert. We always have a Surrey Sunday so we'll be there. Do you want people to e-mail you if they want to come or just add it to their calendar on PH.
With this potentially being a 2 day event were you thinking of any accommodation ?. You could have an evening out in Stratford, meal at Warwick Castle, etc.
Cheers

I am not getting involved in the accommodation side but I will include copies of the relevant pages from the Stratford accommodation guide as people will want differing standards or not want to stay in Stratford at all (Warwick/Leamington etc are all good alternatives). The intention was for people to mix socially rather than just kicking tyres. Stratford has a good range of hotels/B&B's to suit all budgets. The only concerns are car parking and congestion as the dates are at the peak of the holiday season. Hence the urgency to get details finalised and bookings made.

The idea of the Gathering is for a loose meet in a pub somewhere in the locality, so that people can drink, chat, eat etc as they wish. I'd rather it wasn't at a hotel, so that people can B&B, camp or sort a hotel out for themselves. Also, meeting at the pub means that if you decide to have a wander off, you can, do a curry, chinky, fish and chips whatever. FFG, Mrs FFG and myself (cough) are going to have a bimble around shortly (aren't we?
) to have a look, but if anybody knows the Stratford/Leamington/Warwick area and can suggest a suitable venue, shout up!

I'm still heading up a convoy of between 8 - 10 TVR's from the South West.As we speak one of our crew is searching for our accommodation
We won't let you down. In fact,we are looking forward to our day out from "Dartmoor" to rape and pillage your villages
And as for your women
....zzAlt,
You could also go to Cardiff and stand outside the Millennium Stadium. Yes, you can get into Gaydon for around £8 a ticket but you won't be in a secure parking area or benefit from any of the attractions (details to come soon).
The extra costs will cover admin and the parade parking area (£500 a day for 200 cars).
