RH INSURANCE

I'm looking round for insurance for the Griff and, whilst I'm still waiting for some more quotes to come in, RH Insurance have come up with a what looks like a reasonable quote. Question is though what are they like if you have to claim? I know a number of TVRs are insured with them from comments I've seen so has anyone any experience with this??

Later: In case of any confusion I understand they are part of Equity Red Star who are (I think) the underwriters.

A quick Google suggests RH Insurance are either brokers or a front for Red Star, some further reading would tell you. At least one link was to a complaint but that might not mean much.

Good idea Flintstone - I've had a look and there are loads of reviews - so far I've not seen a good one but then most people only write to complain (and they only report their side of the story) so any people on here who have any experience would be useful to try and balance it up??

I've been insured through RH cars and have been, and remain, very impressed.

Around 5 years ago I wrote off my Scimitar Coupe and the claims process was very well handled, and the amount paid out was very fair (plus I was able to keep the salvage and use the best bits to reshell the car and get it back on the road!). The policy also includes free breakdown cover.

Thanks for the input Simon. From what I've seen of posts on other sites the more recent claims handling seems to leave much to be desired. This has been confirmed by someone who is in the insurance business on another forum so I'll probably give them a miss.

Ive been with Richard Hosken for about 4 years now and wrote off a 964 two years back,

loss adjuster was a little bit in the dark over 911 models when he called to discuss their settlement offer, but listened to me and they coughed full value,

so I think they are OK,



but good luck with search anyway
