Procedure for sending seats and roof away for re trimming

Hi

I'm looking to send my seats and roof away to windy Blackpool for re trimming. I've never sent such bulky items before, so I should be most grateful for advice on the best and most cost effective way forward.

I got a large box from a removals place and sent them by city link to dc trim. Just wrapping in bubble wrap and box em.

One wooden pallet some cardboard and a good courier firm!

most carriers will charge a lot more for a pallet than a box (they call them cartons)in my experience.

Majority work by weight, again heavy items (can't be handled by one person, 25kg max ?) are expensive, not sure what a seat weighs but two packages may work out cheaper, as would 2/3 day service rather than overnight.

If similar to my S3 seats its not a big job to separate seat bases from backs, may make packing (finding suitable box's) easier ?

And finally, may be a long trip but I'd go and collect them when done, sure the guys will do an excellent job but just in case there is anything you want to query or you're not 100% with, much easier to do it there an then, and avoids some heavy handed couriers chucking them around various vehicles and distribution centres getting them back to you !
