Tuscan 2 Gearbox problem?

Hello all, I've already posted on the Tuscan forum, but it doesn't seem to be as well populated as this one! I've noticed recently that as my Tuscan 2 warms up the transmission of power from engine to wheels seems to be delayed. The sensation is similar to driving an old automatic car in that the engine revs and responds immediately to the accelerator but the clutch feels like it's slipping and power isn't being distributed to the rear wheels immediately. I don't have any trouble changing gears or selecting gears. So i wonder if it's the friction plates or springs? Has anyone had a similar experience- I'll take the car in to a specialist anyway but would be interested in finding out what the problem could be and what a reasonable quote to fix it would be, or if i might need a completely new clutch. Sounds like the clutch - if you're driving it, try a slight incline section of road, then put in a high gear and accelerate - if the revs rise but no increase in road speed - then definitely the clutch!

How many miles had it done? I've read before here that S6 clutches can be as little as 15k miles.

I seem to remember one of the popular specialists was doing a Winter deal on clutch replacement.

thanks Matt, funnily enough the clutch has done almost exactly 15k miles! Also it does struggle in high gears on an upward incline. Any idea who was doing the special on replacements? John

I thought it was TVR Power or STR8 Six - but can't see on their websites - give them a call, one was def doing it though.

Mine went at 15k ...but I couldn't get 5th and reverse became really difficult.

I've just had my Mk2 Tuscan clutch changed at 40k but same symptoms.

I didn´t realise it was possible to actually wear out the clutch friction plates on a Speed 6 before the release fingers snap, especially after only 15k miles. If slipping after 15k I´d be thinking oil or fluid leak in the bell housing.
