Sticky mess left after wheel weights removed

Can anybody suggest a solvent that will remove the sticky rubbery mess left after old wheel weights have been removed and which won't take the paint off the wheel?

I've tried white spirit, turps and petrol without success.

Sticky stuff remover... I kid ye not. it is citrus based and non toxic / corrosive and works a treat. Available from Lakeland by mail order and also screwfix in aerosols.

Don't tell SWMBO, - but I find if all else fails, nail varnish remover is a good universal solvent.
(Acetone I think .....?)

It will take the laquar of if over used bloody glue its a pia
