sp 6 12,000 mile service question

sure this has been covered but my tam has only done 4000 miles since its big service 2 years ago, had the 6000 mile done last year but will it need the big service regardless do you think? what with the tappets and what not.

Hi Rob, if you take it to TVR POWER, they will do a small service for you and tell you what needs doing, i think the info is on there website...Gordon

I have had the big service every 2 years, cars only done 14,000 miles in nearly 6 years. some shims/adjustment needed every time.

Best get them to check the shims, they may not need to do filters and things but then they dont cost that much.

My specialist swears blind that doing the tappets too often causes premature wear, had mine done the first time at 24K, then 48K etc. Car is about to go in for 78K service and all well so far....

TVR Power told me it was the mileage that counts thats why they do smaller interim services for lower mileage drivers. My car only does about 6k miles a year so Dom suggested a full 12k mile service every 2 years with 6k mile service in between. He must be happy with that as I have his 5 year 100k mile warranty.
