ReTrim Rear Hood and HardTop sections...

Hi,

I need a new rear screen, the folding section retrimmed (as its faded and going slightly mouldy/rotten) and the hardtop retrimmed (oil stain) in the current color and material.

I've had a couple of quotes so far:
1) Automedon £400
2) D&C £580

Both are less than I thought I would have to pay and both are inclusive of VAT so that's ace.

I am surprised at the difference in price though, any thoughts on why there's a good 30% difference in price? Money is an issue especially after Xmas, so it is very tempting to use Automedon as they are cheaper, but obviously I want a top quality job too.

I understand from PH that D&C have a good reputation, I however know nothing about Automedon, so can anyone give me any info/references?

Finally I wouldn't mind a 3rd quote maybe to help put these figures into perspective so does anyone know of a good place locally (Birmingham) to try.

Automedon have just got a container load of factory trim I guess that might be why they can do it for that price.they do all the work on my Cerb and I can't recommend them enough.

Booked in with Automedon....

£400 for a retrim to the hardtop, a new rear section and new rear window (that includes the VAT too), bit of a bargain I think, plus they seem to think they can match the original colour of Prussian Blue. I'm expecting a top notch "good-as-new" job, hope that's not too much to want.

Perhapes best of all they even collect and deliver the car for the price of the diesel, so maybe add another £100 for that and its still pretty good, plus I don't have to take a day off work.

I did get a quote from the HoodGuys (cheers Phillpot), but at £645+VAT it seemed a bit steep compared to Automedon and D&C.

Looks like I'll soon be wind and rain proof again and won't have to gaffer-tape the rear screen everytime I go out.

Will let you know the outcome/quality of work etc...
