As already mentioned in the other post, I'm doing the lakes on Saturday. I'll be based in Kendal but can travel, preferable south as I'm meeting JimmyT who's coming up from Liverpool.

Instead of being selfish I thought I'd open the invite up. Anyone else around for a morning drive and pub lunch?

Looking at the map, somewhere north of Preston is pretty much in the middle of the two of us. Unfortunately I don't know any of the roads in that area (other than the M6).

Anyone know any good driving roads/pubs in the area?

We are also very close to Blackpool...

I know some good roads around this area I live in Scorton near Lancaster if anyone wants to meet at the Forton services (the one about 8 miles north of M55 junction on M6)I would be glad to take you over the Troughs of Bowland which is a nice run.

It's going to be morning rather than evening, lekely meeting at around 10am.

I'm off for the rest of the day. JimmyT, can you co-ordinate if there are any more takers?

Apologies for the time delay,

Barefoot, thanks for the input.

Yep, the Forton services on the M6 seem like a good place to meet.

Shall we meet on the Northbound side and can the lads coming from Kendal get onto the northbound services without going down another junction?

We're hoping to meet at 10am (is that too early?) as the lads from Kendal having a wedding at 3pm and I have an appointment at Goodison Park to keep.

Let me know if you can make it at this time (it would be nice to see your T350!!), otherwise can you let me have details of the "Troughs of Bowland" run.

We're also looking for a nice pub to have lunch in if you can recommend anyone and of course you're more than welcome to join us.

Cheers,
Jim

Was considering going out for a run over the troughs which is where TVR always photo their cars or send the magazines to drive them, then going to the Tickled Trout (at The Preston junction on the M6) for lunch and to meet up with all the Tvr's going to the mini back home.

I think there is a concourse on in the afternoon there as well.

10am on north bound fine as south bound cars can exit at the services and cross the bridge over the motorway and get back into services on the other side.

Let me know.

Kev,

This sounds great and exactly what we're after. I'll contact the other lads to arrange meeting at the northbound Forton services at 10am tomorrow.

Must remember to bring the camera this time.

Cheers and see you in the morning,
Jim

Kev,

Thanks again for the run. Those roads were fantastic. And your T350 RR was just awesome. The way you were pulling away from us at those traffic lights...

Stavely was nice and we made as much noise as we wanted at the reception. Probably a little on the quiet side for a weeks holiday though.

Hi All,

Thanks again Kev for showing us non-locals the roads. What a laugh. And I thought my Tamora was pretty quick until I tried to keep up with your 350 off the lights. I cannot believe quite how quick it is....

And you were right about EFC - what a waste of fecking time.

Anyway, back to airbrushing that Z4 out of the photo's.

Cheers,
James

I have been on 3 track days @ Oulton Park with my car, it was quicker in a straight line than a racing 355, 2 Nobles, a Tuscan (not the S) several 911 turbos and the new GT3 RS.

I will have to do one of the V Max days or something similar just to see how quick it really is. The 400 horses are def healthy ones!

Thought your car looked brill the colour suits it. How did you go on with the pressure sensor?

See you again sometime.
