I actually weighed them (bare - tyres that is! smartasses!!) for someone in an old thread Ant, must've been around 2004/5 IIRC. Don't think I kept the info anywhere as I'd already decided they weren't for me..

ears

If anyone has weights for the Chim/Griff wheels I'd be very interested to hear those too. Rumour has it the RV8 era cars (and quite possibly the Speed 6s too) are very sensitive to unsprung mass.

If you've got the dims of the tyre then the weight can be deermined with a call to the manufacturer.

Yes, a Toyo would be about 11.5kg!

Ah, it is a Toyo. They vary from 11.3 to 11.7 in that size: 888 R1-R etc.

So 23kg-11.3kg=11.7kg for the alloy.

They are recognised as being heavy aren't they?

So what would a "light" alloy weigh? what is considered lightweight? (Not Pasco, I know)

I have a set with no tyres on I will pop them on the scales tomorrow morning and let you know.

Too much strongbow now and you probably want an accurate measure...

I just weighed my spare Imola wheels using some old bathroom scales which are probably only accurate to the nearest 0.5kg....
Front (15") 9kg +/- 0.5kg
Rear (16") 10kg +/- 0.5kg

Maybe a moderator can move your question and my reply to a new thread so as not to confuse, this thread is about 'Spiders' after all.

I guess that we should have made an allowance for tread wear and balancing weights :-)

No tread wear, on a bare wheel... lol

So they aren't the lightest wheel.........
