I put a deposit on a Tuscan yonks ago, I think it was at the 98 or 99 Motorshow. I believe TVR are probably within their legal rights not to return it even though I have moved on to Porker and Radical ownership ... but it would be nice to get it back.

Has anybody been successful in a similar situation?

I don't need lectures about TVR needing the development money, or whatever, just looking for friendly advice.

Many thanks!

I know that there is always a possibility of swapping it to any other of the TVR range at any point, this was certainly the case in the past, you may find the only way to do it is to `sell' your deposit...I guess its a £1000 plus vat motorshow deposit to price fix the Tuscan at £38000 rather than £39750 after the show.

Depends on how well you got on with your dealer and whether they have used that money to order a demo at some point in the past???

With it being so long ago, I doubt you'll get it back in the form of hard cash.

They may give it you back if you placed another order with them, using it as another deposit.

Its always puzzled me though, working in a dealership, the amount of people who want deposits back. Deposits are a form of commitment. If they were designed to be given back, they should never be taken in the first place. They do serve a purpose. - my 2p

I think in a word your b*llocks... as they say

But always worth a phone call to them and see what they want to do, they may give part back and take a reasonable amount of it for paperwork etc..

I should imagine that after 5 years plus it's gone to be fair and possibly even the staff envloved at the time aren't even working there let alone the dealer still selling TVR's

My dealer promised the T350 deposit back, but funnily enough it never materialised.

If I ever go back I will be expecting that chunk off the purchase price.
