Anyone got a spare £15million?
Discussion
Telegraph plonked on the door mat today, business section fell out...
"OOH A T350" on the front page with the heading....
"Wheeler revs up to find a buyer for £15m TVR"
What's going on here chaps??????
I'm trying to work out how to scrape together £15m asap, only another £14,985,000 to go
An American financer and a motor racing veteran (once joint owner of McLaren International are said to be potential buyers.
TVR cannot be sold to Americans
I have nothing against americans, TVR needs to stay British though.

If true, what's the future?
If an American buys it, there'll be airbags, ABS, the speed six will be ditched for an American V8, most of the factroy will lose their jobs, and TVR's will never be the same again. TVR might even disappear.
If americans buy it, the most likely thing that would happen, Blackpool closes, Tuscan Challenge closes, TVR opens up in America and everything improves, but not for us, only the yanks get the best. This is freaking me out... damn it!
If it is true, it is to be hoped that somebody like Ben Samuelson can raise the venture capital and then the company would continue to be run in the manner it is. You may not like the way the company is run, but it works and it's why TVR produce the cars we like so much.
If an American buys the company, is he really going to shift the operation to the States? It would make more sense for him to invest his £15M in a fledgling car company over there? Or carry on over here, doing what TVR are doing already.
Interest on £15M is going to be about £1M per annum? You've got to sell a lot of cars just to make that much profit.
I hope Wednesday's jackpot is £15M and my numbers come up.....

I would be very interested to know which source the Telegraph have used for their feature. Does it say in the article at all?? It would be a shame for Peter to sell up, but as mentioned earlier i doubt he would sell it to the first bidder... and i would expect him to say on as the MD or at least a consultant to make sure TVR don't lose their appeal.
I would imagine that any buyer would be very interested in getting TVR to America quicker, as this will be the easiest way to boost sales hugely
