I was musing in the shower yesterday (that's my story, and I'm sticking to it 
)... should TVR have a strategic partnership in the same way other similar manufacturers have done/do now...
Obviously, Noble running Ford engines and Lotus being owned by Vauxhall are the first things that spring to mind as comparisons, but I was thinking more of the joint development Rover did with Honda in the 80s/90s. If you look at the big Japanese companies, there's a huge worldwide market for them to produce sporty cars - the 350Z & RX8 are going to be cash cows for them, that's for sure. So, that's Mazda and Nissan covered. The S2000 could do with a bit of a re-work (more than the current slight tweaks), and then that's Honda sorted (plus they've got the NSX/Integra to boot). But the MR2 & Celica?? Toyota could do with something a bit more "special".
This got me thinking... would it make more sense for TVR to design engines like the S6 themselves, but then outsource the manufacturing to somebody like Toyota with more stringent quality procedures. In return, Toyota would have what is an amazing engine design to put in a new car of their own (admittedly, this is unlikely, but this was shower-musing, after all). I could imagine TVR running the high-performance version of the S6 - 3.6 litre+ 350BHP+ engines, with them then doing smaller 2.7/3.2 litre, 280BHP engines... a potential successor to the RV8 in cars globally now that's dead, perhaps? Ignoring the shoddy stapling together of the various bits of papier-mache that make up the current build of the engine, it is a great design.
So, the relevance to this thread... perhaps rather than a straight buy-out, some kind of fully/partially owned subsidiary of a bigger car company is the way to go. I'd hope "partially" or "not at all" to be honest, or all the radical styling and decisions would no doubt get lost in paperwork.

Now that doesn't sound like too bad an idea.
T.V.R. Should belong to the Queen of England! And we should all have to take a vow of Eligence to drive for Queen & Country. Like the Army, Navy and other British Armed Forces Do! Besides Its Just Pocket Change to Her. Or Prince William. Richard Branston was a good choice though! He's as mad as a Hatter! What about Rowen Atkinson or Noel Edmunds??? There both huge car enthusiasts. As long as it is someone British i don't care.

Dam tempted to phone round some corporate finance mates, but I just flew out of the Uk today for a few days. Phoned my dad but he said he was not interested but he will ask around his mates. Alas he reminded me I have no background in the automotive industry, but for my sins 16 years ago I was an equities analyst for the sector for a large stockbrokers and worked on the Ford Jaguar deal. My dads advice call Richard Branson or the guys from Rover! Bless Him! I am interested if anyone is serious and they work in the city or have contacts let me know. You never know do you may be a PH take over is possible.

During another shower-musing (ahem), I was wondering what the collective power of all the PH members could achieve... There are currenly 33,000 members, and if we assume each member has a car valued at £15k that could be sold, that's £500m in capital. I was trying to think of some collective task we should try and all work towards (without selling our cars) - getting rid of scameras, for instance. Owning TVR could be fun, though, and I'm sure they're not valued at > £0.5bn.
