Which radio?

Right, I'm in the market for a new CD/Tuner for the Griff and am after some recommendations.

I'm reasoning that I won't be able to hear it all that well most of the time , so the next most important thing has to be what it looks like in my dash (I'm so vain!)

I was originally going to get a stereo with Auto Volume Control so it would turn itself down when I slowed down. But I like the look of the Sonys more.

Looks like you've already got the disco lights in there.

I've got the Pioneer one that Dusty posted. It's good for the price. I'm biased though cause I don't like Sony

and it does the trick nicely thank-you

plays dab, fm, cd, mp3 from cd and mp3 from mmc memory cards.

supposed to have a glass mount aerial, but for the life of me I don't know where Peninsula hid it suffice to say I can't see it

Ooooh, like that Hobbit....especially the memory card doobrey. Does anyone know of a unit that offers similar functionality with Sony memory sticks?

'tis quite nice. I have one of these in my usb port so I can change the music really easily..... (64meg pendrive and mmc/sd card reader in one)

Then get the Sony active black panel MP3 doo dah thing.

Doesnt have a removable face though.

I just fitted a brand new JVC model,really smart thing about is ....the touch screen control.
Very nice head unit.

Got a Cdtuner (kenwood) spare now if anyones interested.

Guys, Im thinking along much the same lines, but was worried that the vast majority of newer high spec head units have these motorised faces that project about an extra two inches from the dash.

Has anyone experience of these, as I'm worried it would get in the way of changing gear.....

The JVC I fitted is no problem for the gear lever.

OK Guys, thanks for all the advice. Having popped into Halford over the w/e I discovered that most of the radios that I thought looked *bling* on t'internet actually looked a bit 'Barbera Cartland' in the metal. So I opted for this relatively cheap Sony effort...

...which leaves me a bit spare to upgrade the speakers.
Hopefully it won't look too 'letterbox' LA.

The unit it is replacing is a flip-down-front Kenwood. It never fouled the gearstick.....but the cable ribbon always looked a bit flimsy and is indeed what killed it in the end.
