Speed 12

A question,was the Speed 12 a bona fide production car or was it a series of sports racing cars that were arguably street legal ?

The Speed 12 or Cerbera Speed 12?
The Cerbie S12 was never a production model as such. One made it onto the road through the sales process. A handful made it onto the track.
A second one will make it onto the road soon afaik.

Sorry should have said Cerbera to avoid confusion.The reason for the question is whether it should be included in a new book or not as a production model.

None were ever sold to customers as road cars, any deposits taken were returned ergo it was never a production car.

As far as I can establish from talking to the guys involved it was just a big publicity stunt by PW , maybe in the very early days he thought that it might be a possibility but both varients were always intended to be race cars first and foremost.

I wouldn't consider W112 to be a 'production car' in the sense I understand the question is being asked. Road registered yes but not production.

No its not my book,it was a question posed by a guy whom i lent some TVR slides and pics to,who is writing the book.
Maybe he should put in a section on the racing TVR's which would cover it.

Easily said but that's a whiole book in itself...
