Cat C Cerbera

Hi guys,

In need of advice, I am looking to get a Cerbera in the next few months and there is breakers yard near me (TVR.DEAN in Ashington)that sells TVR Cat C right offs, they offer to do the work up to paint stage for, what seems to be a very good price, is it too good to be true or should I steer clear and pay the extra and go to a dealer such as HHC?

Buy private and get an honest car.

Do the maths. By the time you have it sorted (not just the paint but service stuff and niggles (there will be lots)) will it be any cheaper?

There are quite a few honest cars in the classifieds right now.

I would buy a car from the classifieds, a known car, cared for and looked after by an enthusiast, the tast of a bargain won't last long when your standing at the side of the road waiting on the AA.

DO get one though they are feckin awsome!!

Cheers fellas I feel the way forward is a car from one of the guys on this site, I will look through the ads on here, when you say a 'known car' what do you mean?
I agree they are awsome, I reckon I have only seen a couple on the road in all my days and I remember each time, I have owned Calibra's and TT's in the past but obviously nothing in the same league as a Cerb, should I maybe go for a Chimera or Griff first,I love the look of the Cerb but fear the extra power may kill me ha.

Go for the Cerb i find it easier to drive than my old Chim 400 better handiling, lighter clutch all round nicer on the road still very quick so be carfull.

Do what most of us did - don't be put off by reputation, get a Cerb and just take your time getting used to the car.

If you settle for second best you'll be hankering after a Cerb every time you see one, which won't do much for your relationship with what is likely to be a pretty decent car anyway.
