hello, this is my first post. i dont own a tvr but griff has always been my fav car. My dad is buying either a griff or chim soon and cant decide which one to get although he prefers the look of the griff. after seeing the 'excitement' asking which to choose causes, i wont ask...

what i would like to know is - can anyone recommend anywhere good near Luton (Bedfordshire) that he/we can go to compare the two - ie dealers or meets? or is it best to travel further afield?

Thanks very much
t

There's a place in Barnet (just below Watford) called the TVR centre thats got a pretty good stock.

It's not that close but only about 25 miles I reckon.

Have a look here: www.tvr-centre.co.uk

Trouble is they tend not to have older cars and their stock is mainly made up of post-Cerbera models.

You'll probably need to go further afield to look at stock - but there's a brisk demand for Griffs at the moment so they tend to get sold before they are advertised.

If you're looking for stuff in the 22/23k upwards range then you might find cars at dealers (Henleys and Barnet are your closest - there's Castle at Stansted too though). Otherwise you will probably have more luck at an independent like Adrian Blyth etc.

Probably your best bet for stock comparisons is the for sale ads on here!

They do at the moment too! Interesting that the P reg Griff they have is described as having colour coded bumpers...

Is Silverstone TVR open yet? They could be another option. I'm near Tring and will be checking 'em out in the near future...

Tom Tom,
The herts/beds TVR meet was on yesterday in Harpenden ( couldn't make it myself ) you should of been able to see a griff and Chim there.

If not this sunday is Mid beds meet

Or.... Vodkakid in Luton with a Griff and myself in Dunstable with a Chim could possibly arrange something

And me in Bedford, Oggs your out numbered 3 to 1

Offords in St Neots sometimes have a couple in stock, give em a call www.offord.com, as there site isnt allways right up to date in the sales and they might be able to tell you if they are expecting any.

If you can make a monday night, there's always the Leighton Buzzard beer-n-meet (usually the last monday in each month). Admittedly you have to put up with certain oriental-origin hair-stylist cars , but there's usually two or three tivs (As well as Porsche, Ferrari, Jaguar, cough vauxhall cough, oh and my little MGB!!!)
