Shell V-Power

Checking the petrol pumps over here in Norway before I bring my car over and the shell garages dont have Optimax, but they do have V-Power (as well as the standard 95ron and 98ron unleaded)

Picked up a leaflet about it, and although I had difficulty translating the Norwegien, all it seems to say is that its "beter for your engine", and it leaves the internals cleaner (so I assume high grade cleaning additives..), the examples it gives though are all for older run of the mill cars...(87 Volve 240, 98 Astra...) - it doesnt say anything about high performance cars / engines...

Had a quick search on the web, but nothing too fruitfull or conclusive....

Does anyone know about this? Does it have a higher Ron and is therefore suitable for HP engines or is it just a mix for older cars with superior cleaning addatives..??

V-power in Ireland too, seems to be the european brand of Optimax...

confused now - reading the shell optimax forum there are conflicting Ron ratings there anywhere from 95 to 100 depending on where its sold..??!! Surely it would be the same Ron wherever its sold??

Is optimax 100 ron then too??

Thought UK Optimax was about 98.5 Ron.....da do Ron Ron

Just a quick update - Shell V-Power is only 95 Ron in Norway, and I believe this might be the case in a few more countries.... Just thought I'd mention it for any of you travelling around Europe - dont automatically assume that because its called the same thing, it contains the same stuff!!!

Looks like I'm gonna have to do with plain 'ol 98 !!
