As some of you are aware i've just bought a 5.0 Chimp and was wandering how it fares in a straight line compared to its sort of brother, anyone had these two side by side at Santapod or similar?

Here are the official Autocar test figures....

Chimeara(5.0) 0-60 in 4.2...0-100 in 10.5 top speed 167
Tamora 0-60 in 4.2...0-100 in 9.1 top speed 175

I will be running mine up the runway at Duxford this year. In previous years the Cerbera's were the quickest up the runway followed by the Tuscans and Griffs. Chimeara's were about level with the Griffs but I must admit I didn't actually put my Cerbera up against a 5.0 litre Chimeara, but I spanked the Griffs and Tuscans I came up against.... I think the Tuscan S should be quickest this year....

Surely the Cerbera with 420 or 440 brake will beat a Tuscan S?

In real life, I'm sure the Tamora with a real 330+ bhp will stuff a Chimaera 500, with a real 280ish bhp.

Well Ston, you would think so , but find me a Cerbera 4.5 with 420/440 bhp..... I don't think one exists...

Cerbs were quickest last year but I think the Tuscan S with a real-life 390bhp and the latest Tuscan/Tamora will be very very close to them. I've been in (and owned) most of these cars and I would say the Cerb/Tamora/Tuscan's have more grunt between 70 and 130mph than the Rover V8 cars, and on the runway that's what counts....

Kerniki, book yourself in to TVR Mania at Duxford in August and you will soon find out how quick they all are...

agreed flasher, I read on the Cerbera mailing list that a Tuscan S dynoed at 373BHP, that is alot of power considering some 4.5 Cerberas dyno at 350bhp. I was just wondering if you had seen anything different.

Would be interesting to see the results of a race.

Your Tamora is _llurrrvvelllyyy_ I saw one in the flesh the other day and they look awesome, any ideas what yours dyno at?

Cheers

I'm afraid not, don't laugh. I thought of our conversation when I noticed the badges and had a quiet giggle, even stranger is the fact that I thought they looked quite nice only because the car is quite golden you understand. doh! BTW what is it?
