Rolling Road Chatsworth - any modded going?

Anyone booked in at Raceproved on the Saturday of the chatsworth weekend? Think my red Rose ajp is going on, would be great to see it beaten by some modded TVRs especially one of the S6's! Will anyone be putting their car on? It would be a fantastic opportunity to compare and put to bed all the whinges.

Hi Clive - I'm not sure what time I'll be there but probably late morning post a mountain bike ride. although I will be at RP in my car not on the bike. Although I do wonder what bhp I put out!
I am really hoping there will be one of the 4.3 etc S6's there as I would love to compare on the RP dyno.

were`nt there 2 or 3 of Dom`s booked in last year that had to pull out at the last minute?

I have to admit I don't quite understand dynos and the at wheel v's at the fly data but if my ajp cerb (with some mods) is at 436 bhp then what would, for example, a Power 4.3 S6 come in at? More than that?

Last year we got the owner of a Merc AMG to go on the rollers, his car should have been putting out 350bhp I think and as the Merc should be on the button it was interesting to see it put out 347bhp (only my memory of the numbers) so it seems as though the RP rolling road was fairly accurate.

Interesting set of results.

So 344 for a standard tuscan 4 ltr. Assuming thats normal then I suspect a Power 4.3 will be circa 420 ie 10% for the extra capacity and 10% for the better engine components and mapping.

So I needn't sweat. :-)

I see from another thread that a power 4.5 s6 supersport is 480bhp. Wow but that seems a tad optimistic but it would be good to see it proven on a known dyno against various other standard and tuned tvrs.

Joo's didn't want to do a full run because he detected a fueling problem which he detected on one of the warm up runs (or what ever the tech term is) he then had a talk with the owner to suggest what should be done to correct the problem. Very profesional I thought and the owner seemed very grateful.

there are so many factor's that can change figures that i think this sort of thread will always be a debatable subject, real world horsepower/torque is the bottom line. with that in mind both myself and dom@power have stepped up and entered gt cup racing with our flagship engines for this season, no bulls**t figures just pitched against the best from germany/italy etc. here's hoping for a 1/2 tvr finish

Understand your point Andy and so it sounds like we won't see any S6 tuned up motors on the day then. Thats a shame. My point is that, regardless of the accuracy of rolling roads, we can compare cars on an equal footing etc.
Racing is a contest of power, skill, chassis, luck, set up etc. It's a great advert for the engines though. So hats off.
I am personally really keen to compare a tuned s6 to a slightly tuned ajp and to see if the 480 hp can be achieved and if a s6 can really beat an ajp as to be honest I would be suprised if it does. I can bake a hat in readiness for consumption though. :-)
