Electric pas pump on a chim/griff

Just stripping my chim for some refurbing, and wondering about changing the pas pump for an electric one, for no other reason than i can then use a je bracket and a shorter serp belt and maybe the odd bhp.


has any one fitted one, what pump did you use, any problems, does it feel the same, work ok?

Been done, loads of Cerbs too. Saxo pump will mate with our PAS hoses apparently, and it works well by all accounts ('though I wonder whether anyone who goes to the bother of some of these mods would ever fess up if it was poo).

Some say the JE alternator mounting has too little wrap on the water pump pully without the PAS pump or and idler in its place (JE doesn't, surprisingly)

I've run the JE alternator bracket and short belt on the Tuscan racers since 05 and never had any issues there, and that gets some stick... I'll head over to ebay and look up saxo pumps :-)

Fitted the Saxo pump to my Wedge, used the one with the remote reservoir, came complete with all wiring, relays and mounting bracket from Ebay for £50, and does work a treat! Easily mated to the power steering rack and fitted in less than 1/2 a day.
