Anyone use a carcoon??

Yes, i`ve used one, and then went onto use an air chamber, same thing but has a rigid frame inside to support the covering when the air supply is switched off. I found them really good and they certainly keep the condensation away and no mould on leather seats. The car kept bone dry for sure.
The only issue with the car coon i found, is the putting on and taking it off, as can cause some marks on the paintwork if not done extremely carefully. Thats where the air chamber is better, its always erected and a door just unsipps to drive the car in and out.

Have an indoor one, that car is in all time does a great job of keeping the car dry and keeping the kids away from it with there bikes, they caused an expensive paint job before Xmas 
,
But a mentioned before when you let it down you can scratch paint if your not careful, I got some short bungie cord an hook it to the roof, works for me

Tony, it is actually a Car-O-Port, which i got from Hamilton Classic, see link below. Being able to unsip the side door, also gives you access to the car without all the hasstle of taking the car out.

I think mine was a small size(fitted a Tuscan ok).
If you are interested, I may well be selling mine. It is currently in the garage roof as i use a de-humid in the garage now, and so is surplus to requirements.

Having owned both a Car-o-port from Hamiltons and an Airchamber, unless Hamiltons have improved the quality of their materials, I would not hesitate to recommend the Airchamber. It's proved very durable, also has side access and doesn't split along the seams. After four years it still hasn't had to sport a roll of duct tape repairs, and won't need any for the foreseeable future.
I've had a Carcoon since early 1995 for the long term storage of another car and it's excellent and robust, with the best fans/filters of the three, but I wouldn't want to use it for a frequently driven car.

Hi again, yes i would indeed be interested depending on price, I have a carcoon as yet unused and unpacked as I've only just got my car back after a good 9 months away having work done on it, still got to have it detailed then into the carcoon, but the tent looks handy bit of kit for being able to work on the Chim in poor weather.

I have the smallest one for my V8S, so a helping hand is needed when putting her away. I stored her for five months over the winter, pumped the tyres up and put in a bottle of tank safe. Started first time, not a mark on her. Little bit of oil on the floor which is now being sorted, so gives you an idea if you are leaking fluids (the floor is supposedly oil and coolant resistant).
As for the summer, I wouldn't put the car in it everyday, but if we had a week of rubbish weather forecast (as very often happens down here) I wouldn't hesitate. The rigid frame makes it so much easier to use (kid's bikes and assorted other rubbish in it at the moment). Well worth it for the peace of mind alone.

Further to previous post. I've just been re-reading the December 2009 Classic & sports car issue and spotted that Carcoon now do an easy access, drive in drive out model called the Veloce, it also has side access panels and their fan/filters are the best. They now come with an improved power/charge system that includes an intelligent battery maintainer.
