I've got Dell Axim X5 with microsoft pocket pc operating system. I've done a 'hard' reboot which, unknown to me at the time, clears all the software. I've lost the operating system CD but I have the sleeve which has the licence number. So, all I need, if anyone can help me, is just a copy of the software 'Pocket PC 2003 with Outlook'.

I'm off to the lakes next weekend and use the PDA with an electronic Ordnance Survey map and a GPS link. Not this time unless maybe one of you guys can bail me out!

Thanks in advance to anyone that can help.

I have an X5 Advanced and as AFAIK a hard reset doesn't remove the actual OS, just any software or settings changes you make after the factory install.

You should be able to hard reset and then add in all the updates, software etc via ActiveSync. Provided you still have ActiveSync installed on your machine with the cradle or cable attached you don't need the originally supplied CD.

The OS is still there but I no longer have outlook, just a basic inboxoutboxsent items, etc. I've got a calendar, excel and word. Activesync is not working when I connect the PDA to a PC and it looks like I'm missing loads from the 'Pocket PC 2003 with Outlook' software. I'm getting an error when I try to view the calendar so this looks like it has become corrupted and needs to be reinstalled. Looks to me like a reinstall is required to get it anything like it was before.
