Brown is Best !
Discussion
My Spit. was Sienna (aka Poo) brown when it rolled off the production line (then went through White when I bought it, Inca Yellow when I re-built it and is heading towards Triumph (bikes) Scortched Yellow or Strontium Yellow when I get some bodywork re-done).
What I've never been able to work out is just what young man-about-town with a little cash in his back pocket walked in to his local triumph dealership and said:
Customer: "I want one of your small, cheap, convertable sports cars!"
Salesman: "What colour sir?"
Customer: "Poo Brown, my good man."
Java (aka Kermit) Green is another gem from the Triumph pain box - www.teglerizer.com/triumphcolors/index.html

Very interesting on the colours, but that's left me a little confused.
My MkIV Spitfire is currently Brooklands (possibly even conifer) green, but inside part of the bonnet you can see the original purple (magenta?) colour. Thing is, it's definitely the old style metallic paint. Did they do a metallic magenta?
