TR7 Rear hub bearings

Can anyone recomend a DIY way of removing the spacer behind the bearing
on a TR7 5 speed rear axle hub?

Can you drift it out from the other side with a long rod?

think I'll have to wait until the spares turn up so I can see how it
all fits together. Failing that I only need the retaining plate so may cut it with a grinder. Cheers anyway.
