I've got a car with two wheel nuts which just won't budge.

I know I should be able to take them off, and I'll get round to drilling the old ones out and replacing, but - in the meantime - is there any way to bleed the brakes while leaving the roadwheels on?

Thanks, chaps!

What car? I've done one of mine with the wheels on.

Just get a socket, a fixed handle (not a ratchet) and a big long bar. You'll get the wheel nuts off.

If it's a Disco, you can use the standard wheel spanner to get the nuts off, just slide a long bar over the handle to get more leverage. I had to do this last week on mine. Or have you lost the special lock nut?

Edit: Just been out to look under mine (Disco II), and I could bleed without jacking it up even, certainly without removing the wheels.

Thanks - I've tired bars and poles in every combination!

Mine's a Disco II, too. So... you can get to the nipples to bleed them without taking the wheels off, then? Maybe I should have checked without just looking at the Haynes manual! The car's in storage at the mo...
