Hi

I am thinking of buying some new struts that take the bilstein 40mm Motorsport inserts but I'm really confused what the rates mean 260/60 etc..

can anyone explain what they mean and which spring rates they "match"

Thanks
Si

I believe they refer to Newtons force in rebound and compression respectively.

You'd need to know at what shaft speed that force was being developed at for it to mean anything. It's like describing an engine purely by it's torque figure.

Not easily, you'd need to know sprung and unsprung masses, the motion ratios and the spring rates. Best off speaking to a specialist.
