Brake master cyliner bleeding
Discussion
I have found that the brake master cylinder has been leaking so its time for a new one. My dealer service manual says that it has to be bench bled before being put on the car, by using a kit that consists of a pair of tubes that go from the cylinder's outlets back up into the reservoir. Anyhow I don't have one of these and the cylinder does not have a bleed nipple. So, can I just put it on the car, connect the brake lines, fill it with fluid and bleed it at the brake line/cylinder screw by pumping the brake and loosening/tightening the brake line screw, just as you would when bleeding a caliper? Thanks for any advice.
Yes, thats how we usually do ones that don't have bleed points. Just have an assistant (gently) depress the pedal whilst each outlet is cracked off in turn.
The gunson's eazibleed things will probably bleed it through with just a normal bleed (via the calipers) and are excellent for occasional use (I've been through 4 at work as the seals go with repeated workshop use
