Has anyone fitted one of these and whats involved?

Where do i 'T' into?

You building a drift car then??


I'm just in the process of getting mine together though with a slightly different operation to normal. Mine is clutch pedal operated

Most systems appear to have asingle line going to the rear brakes off the master cylinder. Just tap in there.

I think it will do a fair bit of drifting on the road, its a spaceframed metro with a v6 turbo renault lump.

So its that simple just 't' into the rear brake line? Thats easy its next to the passenger seat, clipped to the floor

Are you getting rid of the old cable handbrake. If you are then you will need a very blind/understanding/stupid/bribable MOT station.

They won't pass an MOT and for very good reason.

No. A T into the brake line will not work, because the master cylinder is open to the reservoir when you have your foot off the brakes. Given the obvious potential to get it wrong and end up with the foot brakes not working, and the fact it is illegal, how keen are you to do this? Would you be able to achieve whatever it is you are trying to achieve, using a line lock?

Looked into fitting one in a previous car (bought most of the parts as well).

The master cylinder for the handbrake just goes in to the brake line, this allows the rear brakes to work when the foot brake is opperated as the fluid just flows through the cylinder & when you pull on the handbrake the fluid in the rest of the system acts as the reservoir for that cylinder.

From the info I found its not illegal as long as you retain a mechanical handbrake as well (you can use the same handle as long as you can prove that the mechanical one also works).

Thanks mate, i got one from demon tweeks with the cable attachment and now its here i can see how it works but i have gutted the car back to the shell, so i will have to repipe all the system anyway.
I checked the mot book and it does say that a mechanical device must be used for the parking brake.

So, that handy chunk of 2x4 under the seat is your parking brake, sir?

How do they work if you can't simply tee into the line?? Saab's used to have this I know... just curious as I might be going this way on the Europa.
