mazda MX5 DOHC thermostat mods

Is there a part to replace the original thermostat housing on the mazda MX5 , that sticks out a mile from the front , it will be a tight squeeze for a radiator otherwise.

I know brakes get hot but didn't know you could get thermostats for them.
