ive just fitted my golf with lowered and uprated shocks and springs. The shocks are adjustable but the instructions are in german so any ideas on how to set theem up? do i have them setup harder on the front then on the rear or vise-versa or maybe equally? i am an "enthusiatic" driver shall we say so any help would be appreciated and help me save alot of time messing about.

As a very rough starting point, make the damper rates proportional to the spring rates. I assume your springs are significantly different front/rear. many of the budget aftermarket dampers have 'one size fits all' damping in which case the same number of clicks front/rear will give the same amount of damping (even if the dampers are different lengths). But more expensive dampers often come valved to suit the spring in which case the only real way to find how much damping you get per click is to experiment.
