I am planning in removing, cleaning, POR15 ing and then refitting the suspension front and back on a 1997 BMW Z3. I will replace the (knackered) bushes at the same time. Something useful to do over Christmas I reckon.

Poly bushes - Vasaline
Suspension bolts - Lithium Grease

a) Correct?
b) Any other advice please

I tend to use copper-slip on my suspension bolts, but some may disagree.

Also don't forget to grease your brake disks, you don't want them rusting.

Silicone grease for polybushes, though its all fairly academic as whatever you use it will get squeezed out pretty quickly and they'll end up squeaking.

A purist will probably say not to grease a bolt unless it's specified, as it will affect the torque setting. Personally I doubt it matters for something as rough as suspension bolts, so I agree, copper grease to stop the nut & bolt rusting together.
