I am wondering which way round these clips are supposed to go. They both fit both positions but are different in size. I am replacing them as the ones I have just rub on the rotor and don't stay clipped to the caliper, they are st. They were brand new when fitted as well, they are pagid but they suck. I've tried swapping them from top to bottom and it always rubs the rotor.

At the bottom one of the clips at the end fold around to the bottom and the other one doesn't have this, also one clip is slightly longer than the other.

Look at the caliper and pad, it should be obvious when installed into the caliper if it's right or wrong.

It's not obvious. Both types will fit both positions hence this topic.

They are probably just a mix of previous types from different manufacturer's then if they fit either way.

They may just need to be re-bent to make them stay in place correctly.

Ensure all rust is removed from the caliper before refitting the springs.
